As described in Galatians 5:22-23, "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."  Within most Christian denominations, the Holy Spirit is considered the third person of the Trinity alongside the Father and the Son.

 

Also sometimes called the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit is often symbolized by a descending dove, such as was described during the baptism of Jesus Christ in the River Jordan by John the Baptist.  Another symbol for the Holy Spirit is a tongue of fire such as that witnessed by the apostles during Pentecost.
